Introducing the Saturday Sunset.
The app has been completely redesigned and heavily simplified.
This update brings major changes to the app. Saturday—as of this release—has been transitioned into an offline mode.
You can still use the camera to make videos, and you can save them locally in the app.
January 11, 2019
Replaced the pinch-to-zoom gesture with a more comfortable single finger zoom. Just swipe up or down to zoom in or out, respectively.
January 8, 2019
Patched a major bug that was preventing video upload.
Patched a minor bug that crashed the app while you applied text captions.
And while we have your attention, if you notice any bugs or irregularities—really anything that makes you say "well this can't be right"—then let us know so we can try and fix it.

Saturday v0.3.0 is the greatest app we have ever made.
Improvements in Groups
In addition to private groups, you can now start public groups. Anybody can join public groups and contribute videos. Public groups cannot be made private once created. Finally, the Home screen was completely redesigned to organize groups and improve the efficiency of video uploads.
Changes to Profile
The user profile is now private by default; other users will not be able to see your liked videos or the number of followers you have.
Saved Videos
There is now an option to save videos locally. These videos are not uploaded, and instead will appear only on your Profile page on your device. If you log out or delete the app, you will lose these saved videos.
New Filters
This version includes three new filters, namely Dim, C7T, and Glitch. (Note: filters are subject to frequent change.)
Bug Fixes
We fixed a ton of bugs throughout the app and achieved an experience that's as smooth as butter.
November 16, 2018
Includes an important bug fix that patches a persistent application crash that occurred while signing up.
November 14, 2018
Search results are now loaded faster along with higher accuracy in all versions. New videos sent to you will be marked "New" when you open them for the first time. This version also contains bug fixes.
November 11, 2018
This version includes two important bug fixes to make your experience much better when using the camera.
November 10, 2018
This version contains a fair amount of awesome advances and it's worth the update.
We completely redesigned Groups: now it's easier than ever to add friends from anywhere.
Further, you can now send your videos exclusively through text message by sharing a link—no need to post the video.
We made a huge improvement in the video player; videos will now play much faster and run smoother when advancing.
Finally, we patched a handful of bugs, one of which was previously adding green lines along the edges of some videos.

v 0.2.20
includes important bug fixes for changes introduced since the v 0.2.0
release.
The largest fix includes a patch for an intermittent bug that would unpredictably strike and prevent video upload.
In addition, we ironed out some compliance issues in order to support full camera usage on older devices and some iPads.
Finally, there were a handful of improvements that now permit faster and smoother operation of the camera.
October 23, 2018
New features. You can now adjust the playback rate of video clips using a slider that's as smooth as butter. But that's not all: you can also reverse video clips.
Bug fixes. We plowed through a list of known bugs for a much smoother experience throughout the app and the camera.
Improvements. You can find improvements across the board: videos are downloaded into a custom album in Photos, the Saturday camera can be accessed without an account, smarter permissions setting, and more.
October 8, 2018
This is honestly our best version yet, and we had lots of fun making it.
The first thing you'll notice is the new camera layout. We purposefully added these changes to help faciliate faster flow from capture to share.
Besides the camera, we redesigned elements throughout the app: everything from the Settings screen to the error messages were improved.
Some honorable menions: the camera runs much faster, several annoying bugs were terminated, and Saturday looks great on the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR.

You can now apply filters and visual effects while recording videos to enhance your storytelling.
We decided to start with a limited set of visual effects. Here are the effects you'll find in this version of Saturday:
SplitLens
Clone yourself or stitch two perspectives side-by-side by using this handy effect.
Chromatic
Embody the spirit of a fun party or concert with extreme color fringing.
Night Vision
Create the illusion of low-light conditions in broad day light.
Upside Down
Comfortably capture video upside down without while keeping your phone upside up.
This version also includes several changes that enable Saturday to run smoothly on iOS 12.
September 4, 2018
We added captions, removed several bugs, and made a handful of design improvements.
August 10, 2018
Here's everything that's new
(Profile tab > Settings > Following)
will show who follows you back.(Profile tab > Settings > Followers)
will show who you follow.August 5, 2018
We completely redesigned the Home tab. Your feed and inbox now live side by side at the top while your groups are stacked directly below. This new layout is significantly nicer to look at and much more fun to use.
Besides the brand new Home tab, we also added custom UI components throughout the app (e.g. tap the gear icon on any group).
Bug fixesWe made bug fixes here and there. As always, if you find any bugs or glitches in Saturday, please let us know
ImprovementsWe made a handful of improvements in the app. For instance, the Settings page previously had a slight lag, but now it's velvety smooth.
July 30, 2018
This version contains fixes for two major bugs.
We resolved an issue that prevented you from receiving push notifications. And we fixed a bug that hid your followers from the invite list in groups.
July 27, 2018
There are lots of changes in this version. Here's a brief overview of what's new:
New features. We added a new feature that lets you choose up to three usernames to give to friends. Once you pick the username, you can share the link with a friend. Your friend will have to sign up with that username (unless somebody else takes it first).
Bug fixes. The most critical bug we fixed previoulsy caused the app to crash during the sign up process. Besides that, we solved several other bugs, some of which were needlessly using precious memory.
Improvements. The app has been given a slight aesthetic enhancement throughout.
If there are any changes you would like to see, feel free to let us know.
July 20, 2018
This version contains bug fixes, minor design modifications, and performance improvements.
There's really not much else to say. We could bore you with specific details, but there's a good chance you wouldn't care. While you wait for Saturday to download, read this short article about the capacity of your mind.
July 17, 2018
This version primarily contains fixes for two bugs that were noticed in the last version, but also dozens of small, internal changes.
The new look we gave the Profile tab happened to get mangled when the Profile status was changed. Weird—but it's fixed now.
The second bug consisted of a single if
expression (no hyperbole here) preventing the group name from being updated. In the industry, we like to call this "group name stasis" (okay nobody calls it that, but we did fix it).
July 15, 2018
We previously claimed that v 0.1.22 was "our best version." We would like to retract that statement because v 0.1.3 is even better 🔥🔥🔥
Here's what's new:
July 6, 2018
Saturday v 0.1.22 is our best version yet. The largest improvement is the camera. We rewrote the entire camera from scratch, and you'll be glad we did. Among several improvements, the camera runs much smoother and is significantly faster at processing your video clips. We decided to make this change for two primary reasons:
Besides the new camera, we made several small design modifications throughout and countless bug fixes. Here are just two examples:
We're hard at work building the next version of Saturday. In the meantime, if you aren't already using Saturday, then download it from the App Store.
June 17, 2018
This version includes enhancements and bug fixes that build on top of v 0.1.2. Read on for specifics.
Here are some of the modifications we made:
June 14, 2018
This is our greatest version yet, and we really think you'll enjoy it 😉
We replaced an relatively large part of our codebase with some cutting-edge stuff. That's why this update took quite sometime. And it was worth it: the app is much more performant.
While writing some of that cutting-edge code, we also added some new features, fixed countless bugs, and made large improvements to the overall performance.
Here's what's new:
May 8, 2018
Bug fixes. Removal of several new bugs that were spotted in production mode. Read on for specifics:
May 7, 2018
New features. Saturday has been given a thorough redesign from top to bottom. We built a new product, Groups, to help connect with friends in a fun and meaningful way. We added a cool special effects feature to the camera: SplitLens. SplitLens allows you to capture two half-screen videos, and then it stitches the two videos together into one video clip. Fun stuff.
Bug fixes. We fixed bugs that would crash the app or freeze video playback. Furthermore, we also spotted some cosmetic "bugs" that were removed in this release.
Improvements. We've made it easier to invite your friends to the app (you can invite friends by tapping the top-left corner button under the profile tab). We also added a mechanism to email us from inside the app (tap the first option on the settings page).
